I’m Sophocles Papavasilopoulos. I’ve written music for theater, film, video games, dance, and art installations. I’ve also written concert music of both the electro and acoustic variety. I served my time – eight years give or take – in a graduate music program. Now I’m circling the wagons and going back to basics. No more chamber ensembles — for now. No more bloops and bleeps — for now. No more adjunct teaching, late nights in the library, and dissertating — ever. Just me, my voice, and a piano — for now.

I began this podcast as a way to reach out to other musicians who both compose and perform. Everyone creates music differently, and talking to talented artists about their process helps inform me about mine. I assume other folks can benefit from these discussions. So. Voila! It’s a win-win. Enjoy!
